Target + Colgate = A Happy Heart!

This week one of the thousand things I focused on was saving money with coupons.  Specifically Target coupons.  And let me just tell you about a deal that we took advantage of this week!

Let me begin by saying my family has become toothpaste snobs.  We LOVE Colgate Optic White!  We originally bought it because we had a coupon for it.  Now no other toothpaste has lived up to it.  So we have "bit the bullet", so to speak, and have paid the higher price - Colgate, you got us...

Well, Target is one of my favorite stores for finding deals because they have store coupons that you can use with manufacturer coupons, plus they also have Cartwheel savings, too, making for some really good deals!

So Target had a store coupon for $1 off 1 and then there was a manufacturers coupon for $1.50 off 1.  Target's price was 2.99, so minus the $2.50 in coupons... We got them for $.49 each!!!  So as you can imagine, we have been stocking up on them!!!

Now for a "real world" moment.  I took a picture of our bountiful toothpaste, because, I mean, who wouldn't want to see that, right?  But when I went to get the USB cable it was gone. Of course!!  So now I have the task of trying to locate it..in my SPARE time!  Ha!  Good luck to me!

So here is a little something...  tada...

How Time Flies...

I was just thinking about how I still need to get all my paperwork together to do my income taxes.  Unfortunately, all my medical expenses, etc. have been thrown into a pile with every other peice of paper that I need to hold on to.  So I am going to have to sort through my big ol' pile and pull out all the tax-y stuff.  I seriously need to get a system for all my paperwork...

Anywho, a thought crossed my mind that made me chuckle...

And, boy, is this true!

What system do you use to keep your paperwork organized, a.k.a. shit together?

What To Do With Leftover KFC Biscuits

Is my family the only one that has leftover biscuits whenever we get KFC?  Whenever my family gets KFC we always have left over biscuits!  And one thing I hate to do is waste food.  So I came up with a simple solution that makes for a kid-friendly lunch.

After cutting the biscuits in half I then topped them with spaghetti sauce, pepperoni and cheese.

What you need, baby, I got it...

And THIS is what you end up with...

My daughter absolutely loved them (and so did I)!

And it gave me an opportunity to use some things that were just sitting in my fridge!  Bonus!

Have you come up with an ingenious way to use up those darn leftover KFC biscuits?  Let's hear about it!

And So It Begins...

Life is crazy, is it not?  You run from one thing to another and only finish about 25% of what you set out to do  ...on a good day!  It's fire drill after fire drill after fire drill.  The to-do list grows longer and time just sits there, not doing you any favors.

No sweat!  I am not Superwoman.  I don't try to be.  What I am is a dreamer.  I dream of a day where I can get out of suburbia, live on some land and live a simpler life.  Is that too much to ask? That's what I am trying to find out!

I am always trying to think up ways to make things easier in my life and work towards that simpler life that I long for, whether its saving a little more money or taming the clutter that multiplies like a virus and tests my sanity.

I have so many things on my mind I need a place to "collect my thoughts", if you will, and this blog will be my "safety deposit box".  If I can deposit my ideas here I can get them out of my head and come visit them every once in a while!  :)

And why not share them with others who are feeling the same way I am?  We all struggle, and that's okay.  Let's not pretend we're perfect and have it all together.  Perfection is only an illusion.

Now how about some food for thought.  Big or small, what have you done to make your life easier?
